Petula Clark, best know as a pop star in the 1960's, was born November 15, 1932, in Epsom Surrey, England.She has sold almost 70 million records worldwide.
As a child, during WW ll, she sang to the Allied Forces on BBC Radio and was know as the "Singing Sweetheart" to American troops fighting overseas. In the 50's she hosted her own BBC radio show, signed a movie contract with the well known Rank Organization (RKO), all before her successful 60's career.
In the 60's she hit the American pop charts with the song "Downtown". Next came a flurry of hits such as "I Know A Place", "Don't Sleep In The Subway", "My Love", "This Is Your Song", "A Sign Of The Times" and "I Know A Place.
She has been married to Claude Wolff since 1961 and has two daughters and one son.
She released a new album in January. 2013. It has some new music, some covers and a remake of "Downtown." Petula Clark has composed and co-composed many songs. All of her 2013 concert shows are in the United Kingdom.
